WALDEN : THE POND----Herny David Thoreau (Continued Work In Progress)

In Thoreau's Walden, chapter The Pond, Thoreau details the mystic, almost life (human character) of Nature and his internal synch with it. This linking is much different than connecting with humans, which he labels (the philosophies). In essences One individual while in Nature can live and learn, with the natural mistakes and errors that extend the human psyche and because it's all within nature, all comes to a synch (Chi) with God the creator of nature. Whereas in the human created civilization, the mistakes and errors made by humans try to live up to the expectations of others in a stratified structure of competition, only adds to duress by which synching with God becomes more difficult. These stresses never seem to occur in nature. Thus he comes to understand that by using man's wit, in Nature all is doomed. Whereas as using man's spirit/soul in nature, much is extended and life becomes more engaging.

He details the extension from the physical reality the earth and its natural blended elements of the ponds, trees, animals and the natural curves of the hills/mountains that are all nature: nothing is geometric and planned as in human reality. He states, Nature finds a way of ..."washing away man". Thus symbolism of dust in the wind, is what becomes of man effort in the natural environment.

I awoke early morning, bored yet content. Throughout the day, I watch the Pride week gala event come together from Civic Center. And through the day, I was content with the extent by which I could be an enthusiastic participant, but then next year uhmmm-thus I was content with possibilities and the reality of my San Francisco visit/home in development (all is going fine).  Under these conditions, it did not surprise me, that by the end of the day, men would arrive and to remedy much: and I would accept their invitations and elude risk, as with the latter.

Amazingly those invitations "catapulted" me into an elated state of joy and I leaped blindly into the festivities of Diversity being celebrated in the Bay Area, Pride Day. Aloof as I was, the vivid energy of internal individual joy, collective radiated outwardly and I fighting a bite of paranoia (smoked a joint/ stress leave do me better) wondered about the city on foot to heights of Castro far found the celebrations winding down after 9:00PM! I busted into laughter, laughing with myself realizing that I was lost, and I had forgotten the delight acquired being lost in an unfamiliar city. I decided to enjoy as much of the energy of the city night skyline, the hills and hills, and the remaining people as they slowly became few.

Today I was finishing reading Walden by Thoreau. I read the chapter, The Village.  In that chapter Thoreau expresses;

                             " In our most trivial walks, we are constantly, though unconsciously, steering like pilots by certain well-known BEACONS and HEADLANDS, and if we go beyond our usual course we still bear in mind the bearing of some neighboring cape: and not till we are completely LOST,...do we appreciate the vastness and strangeness of Nature. Every man has to learn the points of compass again as often as he awakes, whether from sleep or abstraction. Not till we are lost in other words, do we begin to find ourselves, and realize where we are and the infinite extent of our relations..."

Thus it is not possible to have mal feelings towards those men who arrived with remedies and risk. With intent or not! Their effort (appreciated) afforded me the opportunity to be as I have in other locations, lost in delightment. By which I rekindled in spirit, the infinite extent of my relations: Past, Present and that which will come to be. And truly enjoyed being lost in such a beautiful city within the aura of celebration that radiated UNCONDITIONAL RESPECTFUL LOVE! It reminded me of being one of the original student body members of the first LGBT Groups on the University of New Mexico Campus (1995) WoW, times have changed for the WE THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! May it continue!

RESPONSE TO HENRY DAVID THOREAU---"Not have lived at all..."

 

My response to the above craving expressing Thoreau's thoughts. I would rather come to death, not have lived: than live and be controlled by factors not of my consent or liking!!! Thank God, as a human on this earth (for the better or worst) I am AMERICAN and do have the Liberty and Individualism to control in some aspect the decision I want to live and not live.  As I respect other AMERICANS rights to do the same!

I'm still waiting of us, to consider accepting internally

Who is the determinate of any individuals LIFE, as lived?

This question has plagued me for the majority of my life. And as an AMERICAN, it was intense seeming we are taught and live our LIBERTY and INDIVIDUALISTIC lives, result in our individual FREEDOMS. I tossed through endless theories, seeking to find some rationalization. Yet found it easier to live my life as I lived it-this includes the recent REVOLT (Jan 13, 2013 Phoenix, AZ to Jan 1, 2016 Los Angeles, CA)  (knowing that it is in part the lived lives of others, by which I am able to interact within the society-the SCR.). I now live my life in search of the wisdom of existence often referred to by many theories, pastors, and other individuals as I let the invisible society governance, balance it for me. From there, total peace of mind/spirit can be sought and replace compounded stress. We tend to neglect the way we treat one another, thus resulting in stress variables and a poorer/shorter quality of life.

In Walden, Thoreau opening chapter explains similar ideals of individual determination. He states, "...I am a sojourner in civilized life again...Would fain say something about your condition, especially your outer condition or circumstances...We might try our lives by a thousand simple tests;...as it would have prevented some mistakes...NATURE and human life are a various as several constitutions. Who shall say what prospect life offers to another?...What my neighbors call good, I believe in my soul to be bad...Let us consider for a moment what most of the trouble and anxiety which I have referred to is about and how much of it is necessary?...It would be advantage to live a primitive and frontier life...to learn what are the gross necessaries of live and what methods have been taken to obtain them..." (pages1, 6, 7, 8, 9).
