First, shame on Senator Liberman, Senator Susan Collins and Senator Tom Carper- why, well these genius political minds, have decided to craft a bill (which will hit the floor this session) that would give the President authority to shut down the internet in the USA should an emergency occur. Think of current issues in Egypt and you'll get a clearer ideal. What do you think. Are these Senators crazy? Is'nt this still the USA with a first admendment?

I remember the events on 9/11 and the government shut down all communications in NYC. In dire circumstances this may need to happen. It stops those who are trying to harm us from communicating. That is the thinking behind the action. Without talking about what may be happening in the world today or with security today, there has to be a real credible threat.
Absolutely NEVER! You might as well ask if he should be able to stop newspaper printing or TV News. I find those two disgusting and not worth my time, but to turn them off is unacceptable, period!
Obama/Egypt seems similar don't they. Could he be in the Moslem Brotherhood? I am sure it was just the thing to do when in College, ya know, to get a date with a hot Islamic chick.

Definitely a no-no. If all of the sudden protests were to break out because the prez went dictator, then they could shut down the internet to further cut communications off between rebellors
I think our fading generations learned from Egypt that internet kill switches only brings more people out to the streets. I am hoping Republicans use their self responsibility talking points to stop internet kill switch but their weakness to fear in the name of national security may defend the kill switch like the Patriot Act.
I can't imagine a situation when that would help anything.
